I was born in New York, NY and attended Bethpage High School. Upon graduation I was undecided on which of my two loves to pursue a career in – commercial art or the sciences? Seeking advice from my wise grandmother, she asked me, “do you enjoy eating?” Hence, I attended S.U.N.Y. at Buffalo and received degrees in Biochemistry and Chemical Engineering, and later in life, an M.B.A. After retiring from a successful 36 year career with E.I. Du Pont De Nemours, I relocated from PA to Safety Harbor, FL in 2017 and began pursuing my long dorment passion for art.
I started small, taking drawing and colored pencil (CP) classes at the Dunedin Fine Art Center (DFAC). Several CP drawings were accomplished and my work, “Safety Harbor Marina”, 2019 has been sold at the Safety Harbor Chamber of Commerce and the Syd Entel Galleries. Another CP work, “Icy Strait Evening”, was exhibited in the 2020 International Miniature Art Society of Florida exhibition. My CP miniature, “Monachopsis”, came in third place in the 2021 Dunedin Fine Art Center’s “The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows” show.
During the 2020-21 global pandemic, I expanded my artistic pursuits to soft pastels taking both virtual lessons and classes at the DFAC. I am a member of the Pastel Society of Tampa Bay and several pastel paintings have exhibited at the DFAC shows.
